Since 2026
gpuslider is our own slider library. The slides are ordinary HTML that works without the script; with it, a canvas draws them with shaders, through WebGPU where the browser has it and WebGL 2 where not. The canvas is made at the first sign of use, so a page loads no shader before a visitor touches the slider.
The core is 4.7 KB and moves, measures, drags and loops the slides; everything else is a plugin. Effects such as stretch, a loupe that crosses the gaps between slides, or covers and fans that leave the slider are a few hundred bytes each, and every size has a budget the build checks. Tests compare the shaders with the same maths in JavaScript to a hundredth of a pixel, in both APIs.
Version 1.0 came out in September 2026, 1.2 in October. It is free on npm, with React bindings, a lightbox, and a playground to try every effect.
